Thank you for getting back to me about the Jimmy Mac Foundation fund raiser. Here is some information for you. Please pass it on to as many people as possible. Posting it on the web site would be great. On a side note, Jimmy and I went to school together every since jr high school and were great friends. I know this hits close to home for your agency - so again thank you so much for all you continue to do in the memory of Jimmy and Officer Burrell.
I am a retired Petaluma Police Officer and my husband, Paul is a Petaluma Police Officer. He and I are working with a scholarship fund, the Jimmy Mac Foundation for law enforcement.
This fund is designed to assist with the cost of the police academy for Cadettes who are attending the SRJC Police Academy. The scholarship amount that has been awarded during each academy has only been around $1500 - not enough to cove the academy cost, required gear and expenses. We are working increasing this fund to with a goal to put 3 Cadettes through the academy with all expenses paid. This is huge!
I am contacting individual agencies, POA's, schools and as many people as I can to get the word out. Please take some time to look over our web page scholarshipfund.myarbonn.com to see how we are generating these funds as well as the history and reason for this fund.
I am looking for your assistance for the best way to get this information out to your regions, departments, etc.
Please let me know if this is something we can work on together to spread the word.
